Single file Queuing.. in pubs!
at 15:25 8 Jun 2024

The current future Mrs Watford is a chef. So many people claim to have an allergy then see the food and decide they’ll have it anyway. It’s a massive ballache for a restaurant to ensure a dish can be created without your made-up allergen. Someone came in the other day and said they were allergic to garam masala but didn’t know which of the dozen ingredients in it they were allergic to. I hate people.

Say what you want about Spoons but it’s great you can just order from the table rather than wait for Stacey and Tracey to order four bubblegum daiquiris and some bloke to try and jump in ahead of you to order three drinks including a Guinness and enquire about allergies on the food menu. The queue is preferable to people pretending not to know who was there before them.

Might lay England to get to the semis if it’s a laughably short price.

Commentary last night said they expect him to play “some part” of the second game. So we’re banking on him being immediately up to it which just seems illogical to me.

I like Gordon. His work rate off the ball is very good too.

Left-back is a problem without doubt. It’s mental to me Mitchell isn’t in the squad. 26 players and we can’t find a spot for a fit left-back so it’s Shaw who won’t be close to match fit or Trippier who is a weak link anyway and offers no width. Mitchell had a great end to the season.

One shot on target thus far to their four.

He’s morphing into Henry VIII.

All the money in the world. Why would you bother doing a job you’re rubbish at?

Anyway 0-1.

I’d also be a bit wary of letting your support influence your arguments. Might be worth looking into Bury as a recent example where it really went tits up and the lower down you go the more chance you’ll have of those you’re talking about showing an interest.

Not really my area but going back many years to when I did a dissertation in the economics of sport my advice would be to fire an email or social media message to some people who have been through it. I maybe emailed 100 experts either in Economics or those involved in the business side of the game and three pretty well-known people in football got back to me and gave up some time for a chat. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Blair and Brown was an evidently good combo for leading this country. No PM since has come close. Brown deserved a chance at a full stint on his own as he’s unquestionably a hardworking, good bloke and politician who didn’t court the limelight but the country had to clutch its pearls over him calling a bigoted woman a bigot and we were dumb enough to vote in another chinless Etonian.

So yeah I’m a Blair ‘apologist’. New Labour achieved loads of positives.

Used to get served in there when well under 18. Dreadful place and I assume it’s not improved in 15-20 years since.

Sounds like the sort of place my accent wouldn’t go down a treat. The guy who cut my hair near the football ground claimed he got a trim there sometimes.

Watford is a bit of a wasteland for decent pubs. Bit of a wasteland for anything really even with the money pumped in but it’s been a few years since I lived there.

Loads of pubs down here in glorious Hove and one has a QPR landlord.

He’s dross and barely played for years. Would be very Begovic-y. Female fans would approve.

If I make it to that age I really doubt pensions will be a thing in 35-40 years. Probably scrapped under the guise of “putting more money back into your pocket”.

Pensions are officially a benefit and have been for some time.

It has its flaws but UBI is a policy I’m a big fan of. Replaces a lot of the admin associated with various benefits including pensions and removes the argument of work not paying when it’s below a certain level. Whenever it’s considered there’s a huge backlash though.
