It would change the game completely a bit like the pass back rule. Who thinks tat was a bad idea?
I think you’d have to change other rules to make it work. Like i mentioned corners maybe you could have short corners and long corners like in Hockey? Also what’s the point in over head throw ins if you can’t head the ball? I guess goal kicks over the halfway line could be banned?
The game of football is built around heading the ball so maybe introducing those sorts of rules before banning them would make more sense? I think you’d need to make heading the ball less necessary first.
The speed at which Cifuentes picked Walsh when we were safe is an indication that it was something they’d considered before.
For me it’s another example of good management that the perception is we have a good young prospect on our hands going into next season. Compared to what we would have had if we’d picked Walsh before and it hadn’t gone well.
Rudoni would be a good signing. He gave one of the best individual performances I saw at Loftus Road this season. Also it would give Clive the opportunity to roll out his “typical QPR signing could have had him for a fraction of the price when he was playing down the road at Wimbledon” routine.
Another good performer at Loftus Road was Jamie Allen of Coventry. One year on his contract and they mentioned in the commentary the other week that he might be moving on. 29 now so not a youngster and only managed 1 goal and 1 assist this season. Both against us.
I suspect we won’t sign either of these players and tbh I hope that the Rangers scouting network extends a bit beyond the scope of ‘looked quite good from R block this season’.
Another name I hear mentioned a lot is Alfie May who had another prolific season in League 1 this time with Charlton. Will be 31 at the start of next season but like Jamie Allen might be worth a look at the right price. Although there must be a reason why nobody has taken a chance with him at Championship level before this.
