Striker Matt Tubbs saw plenty to be optimistic about in the 0-0 draw at Wycombe.

Pompey have not won for more than two months yet bossed the first half against Gareth Ainsworth's side, who started the day in top spot.

Tubbs spurned two or three chances and Pompey created plenty more but couldn't find the net. Afterwards he told the club website: 'On the whole you have to look at it as a good point against the side at the top of the league. But we were all frustrated after the final whistle that we didn’t get all three.

'We dominated in the first half and a neutral watching would probably have thought we were leading the division. If it was decided on chances created then we would have run away with the game because we had the clear-cut ones.

'It wasn’t our day in front of goal, although we got a bit of luck when they had one that came back off the crossbar. On another occasion it could have been 4-0 at half-time, but there are still plenty of positives for us to take.

'The manager got it spot-on because you could see how well we played before the break. The supporters were brilliant as well — they’re our 12th man and one of the reasons why I signed for this club.'
