Paul Cook has spoken of his admiration for this weekend's opposite number Paul Sturrock.

The former Southampton boss brings Yeovil to Fratton Park on the back of a difficult and injury-plagued start to the season.

That's come as the men from Huish Park aim to stabilise in League Two after back-to-back relegations which followed a meteoric rise to the Championship.

Cook told the Pompey website: 'The success they enjoyed recently in getting to the Championship was nothing short of miraculous. Unfortunately, they’ve been on a downward spiral since then, but they’re a smashing club and have proved that smaller sides can go to bigger places and do well.

'They’ve had horrific luck with injuries so far this season, so they’ll pick up more points when they get those players back on the pitch. In Paul Sturrock they’ve certainly got a manager who knows the game and I’m sure he’ll be able to do well there.

'But my job is just to concentrate on Portsmouth Football Club and that’s what I’ll be focusing on.'

Cook has suggested there will be one or changes to the team following Tuesday's home defeat to Exeter.
