Skipper's verdict on Pompey's home woes

Skipper Michael Doyle says Pompey's players are positive that they can improve their home form.

They've only won two out of six at home and have suffered two 0-0 draws, the latest against Yeovil on Saturday.

Doyle, who went closest for Pompey with a 20-yard shot well saved by Yeovil's keeper, told the Pompey website: 'Our home form has been very frustrating this season, although we’re feeling positive about putting it right. Teams are obviously coming here and setting up with plenty of men behind the ball, which makes it hard to break them down.

'Not one side has really come out and tried to play against us — we’ve been the aggressors in every match. But we’re all working well together and I think it will all click in the long-term.

'We’ve had early chances in games that we haven’t been able to take and when we manage to do that, it’ll be interesting to see how our opponents react. If some of them start going in then it forces the other side to come out a bit more and opens the game up.

'I’m sure that will happen for us sooner rather than later and I’m looking forward to the day that it does.'

At least Pompey don't need to worry about home shortcomings for a while - their next two games are away, at Cambridge and Newport.
