Fans are being offered the chance to see parts of Fratton Park they will never have set eyes upon before.

Pompey are staging their second History Day later this month and it is the ideal chance for supporters or anyone else interested in the club's past to find out about PFC's rich heritage.

On Sunday, November 29 (11am-2pm), the club's second History Day will be staged, based around that day's programme and memorabilia fair in the Victory Bar.

A display of club memorabilia will also be on show, encompassing the 117-year story of the club, including artefacts from the club’s trophy cabinet. There will be other priceless items which rarely see the light of day, such as old shirts, documents, programmes and photographs.

A number of items recently donated by fans will form part of the exhibition and there will be an opportunity to bring along memorabilia to be valued.

The Pompey Former Players’ Association will have a display and it is anticipated that several former stars will be in attendance to chat and sign autographs. For a donation to the charity which supports old players, fans can take a selfie with the FA Cup.

There will also be an exhibition by the Pompey Pals project, a charity devoted to telling the story of the men from the city who signed up for duty at the outbreak of World War One.

Entry to the fair and the displays will be free, but the club are also organising tours of the stadium, including the dressing rooms, tunnel area and boardroom of the iconic venue. Priced at just £10 for adults, with accompanied juniors free (instead of the usual £5), the club hope they will prove popular.

Colin Farmery, who oversees history and archiving projects at the club said: 'After the last event proved so popular, we have decided to repeat the formula, although there will be a lot of new and previously unseen material on display. More details of the exhibits will be revealed nearer the time.

'We also want to promote tours of the stadium and by allowing accompanied children to go free, it is a great opportunity to introduce younger fans to the history of the club, as well as seeing things like the changing rooms and experiencing the thrill of coming up the Fratton Park tunnel.'

The 30-minute tours will run on a rolling programme but places are limited so early booking is advised. Places can be booked here. There are lots of stairs on the tour, so it is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Tours start and finish at the VIP entrance in Frogmore Road.
