All we can do is win our games and not worry about the rest - so says Michael Doyle as he prepares to lead the Blues at AFC Wimbledon on Easter Monday.

The skipper is out to ensure the team make it two wins from two over the holiday weekend with victory at Kingsmeadow.

Pompey remain five points behind the top three but can keep the pressure on them by improving on the 0-0 draw they recorded against the Dons at Fratton in November. As usual, Paul Cook's team will be backed by a large travelling army.

Doyle told the Pompey website: 'We have a lot of fans wherever we play and we’ve sold out our allocation again — it’s great to have that kind of backing. So we want to keep making them happy — as well as making ourselves happy — by getting as far up the league as we can.

'There are eight games to go and AFC Wimbledon will probably be putting pressure on themselves to get a win. But all we can do is focus on is ourselves, try to be as positive as we can and get the result we’re all looking for.

'We’ve given ourselves a bit of work to do in order to get to where we want to be, so we’ve just got to win as many as we can and see where we end up.'

Cook told the website Pompey needed to keep taking things a game at a time. He said: 'We’ll go there with great confidence after the Notts County result and we want to be involved in the promotion race at the end of the season.

'But the only way you’re going to be able to do that is by winning games, so that’s what we have to try to do. We just have to keep our heads down now and try to get better and stronger as a club. With eight games to go we’re in danger of having a good season!'

The Blues seem likely to be largely unchanged from the team who overcame Notts County with some ease on Good Friday.
