This is the best that I can remember. We were behind it and anyone who was there will swear that the shoddy camerawork does it no justice. The swerve on it was incredible, impossible even at that pace. Add in that we were incredulous that he was taking it and that (I think?) it was his first and last free kick for us (he didn't even take our penos) and the shock factor also added to the joy. Others?

I can’t find a clip of it but I remember Furlong scoring from a free kick from 30 yards up at Crewe. Even better he just walked away from it like he did it all the time.

Yes if i recall it went both ways. a real highlight on a otherwise pretty miserable day, I can still see the trudge out to that muddy old half made car park on the final whistle in my minds eye

The best free kick I can remember was a last minute attempt by Rodney Marsh at home to Bristol Rovers in an evening cup game. We were trailing 1-0 at the time and Rodney bent it right round an 11 man wall to equalise and the keeper didn't move. I think we lost the replay.Astonishing free kick, though.

I remember Venables clever free kicks.There was one where a player stood on the end of the wall Another player runs over the ball and keeps on going A third player passes the ball to the guy on the end of the wall who first time knocks the ball into the path of the runner who places it past the keeper I haven’t any footage of this hopefully someone else has I tried this with my sons five a side team and it worked
