Martí was successful last season.
We as a club can see that and I’m sure the rest of football outside of the top 10 tossers in the Prem will have seen it to.
I do think, at the moment, it’s really only us who know how good this fella can be.
He’s probably been a bit over shadowed by the Chef Weds Manager and that’s a good thing (for us). However I do think if we make decent additions and make a good start next season then Martí will be getting linked to all sorts of jobs. You can see a possible repeat of the Beale scenario but with Martí conducting himself in a manner poles apart from that knut.
If he’s being linked with jobs then that means he doing great which is good for us. This is why the club should be ensuring that his contract is as good as it can be and also, sadly, identifying a successor | |

Losing Marti would be a concern but I’m not so concerned now the triumvirate of clown princes running the show have all finally been run out of the club.
We will still be associated with that rabble for a while yet and you’d imagine Marti will be bumping into football associates all telling him if any job can kill his career long term it’s this one.
But if losing him becomes inevitable, so long as the people at the top keep shape (it’s a long shot admittedly) then overtime the curse will be forgotten and the club can move forward. |  | | |

True. But Newcastle have made plain they don't want him. Chances are they WILL do a deal to end his contract.
Wages are more of an issue. He said he had to take a pay cut to join us on loan. Whether he can accept £50k pw to <£10k is unlikely. | |

I'd guess that it will depend where Hayden wants to play. I doubt anyone else will give him 50k, but if we offer 10k on a 2 year deal, it leaves Newcastle to pay off 40k. Someone may offer 20k, leaving Newcastle to pay 30k, but if he doesn't want to go there, Newcastle may not have much choice, but only guessing. | | | |

Charlie's career has been on a steep decline
He was unfit, over weight and unproductive during most of his second spell with us.
If he gets another contract will be non league.
Was very expensive for us second time around with little output to show.

I'm not getting super excited. 4 signings in Jan and all played their part, but Frey has been unconvincing; Hayden has been great at times, but average at others, Hodge not really figured (crucial goal side). Andersen been good. Hope for a slightly better big hit rate than that this summer. |  |
