The only video I am missing since last Friday is one of that Spanish fella laughing his nuts off about something, with the subtitles changed to suit the story narrative. There are some creative types on here and I would like to see one entitled 'Leeds Are Falling Apart Again - Staying Down Forever'. |

I pride myself on not being a gloater or participating in schadenfreude 99% of the time, but the contrast in my mental health from leaving Vicarage Road on the first game of the season and last night has made me revert to childish behaviour and seeking out Leeds fans reactions on You Tube. Oh my God - the entitlement All Leeds TV with a real life couple (can't scream cos bay bay if upstairs) is a particular delight. " What were score?" - "I dunnooo los' count....... think it was 4 -0" |

I might have this all wrong but I have this impression that Ebs is a Sth London boy, born and bred, seems to be very level headed young man, I think he is married now and might care more about staying around his family and church community and might take some persuasion to move away from his roots, let alone move up north. Could be wrong but I think Arsenal don’t need him but could he go to Spurs or even West Ham, for less money but keeps him in London and happy???? May well be reading the situation wrong. |

But it is still so vivid in my memory. Mrs dropping me off at Northwood Hills Tube - train to Watford. Strolling through the Watford side streets full of new season hope and wonder - despite the pre-season. An over-priced hotdog in the ground out of hunger desperation. Looking for any familiar faces as you decide where to park yourself. Trying to stay positive about the team sheet. Kick off Desperation. Wife offering to pick me up again from the Tescos Petrol station at Northwood Hills Walking straight passed the car into the garage shop and drinks fridge 4 pack of Kronie 1664 pint sized cans, bottle of Merlot ‘Take me home love - quickly please’ |

Until recently I had that negative attitude about sponsorship from a betting company on the basis that gambling ruins lives. But then if we were told it was Guinness sponsorship again would we feel the same way about alcohol issues etc. Not a huge fan of the kit but as someone says will look alright on the pitch from the stands |

I was watching that last night and cheering on Danny Murphy. Go on son keep planting the seed in everyone's head. £80m with us getting 20% of profit of sale from CPFC. That should enable the board to sort out FFP for the next 3 years, extend Ozzy Kakay for another 4 years, give Frey an extended 4 year contract, not renew Asmir and then sign Woodman from Preston for 4 years - not that they will tell us the length of those contracts of course. Joking aside, whilst everyone is getting excited about Eze moving on, if and when it happens, the best we can hope is that there is enough headroom in FFP for a couple of years so Marti gets a few bob to invest in a few more players - need Eze to move early in the window and not on Transfer Deadline Night! |

I was surprised when a 26yr old used that to describe a player of around the same age |

I know I have been less than gracious about Finney as host of my fave Podcast of the last 10+ years but a good hour with Warbs reflecting on times past and clear that Mark keeps an eye on what Marti and the team are up to. Finney reined it in 99% with the Chelsea/Brentford hatred bile that makes some recent stuff go off in unnecessary tangents, so a good listen. Warbs thinks that between Marti and the squad we should stay up. Let’s hope so. Big game tomorrow though |

I was at the ground last Saturday early and was trawling through FB or X and saw a comment and repost of a Tracie Bowles post effectively saying that his passing was imminent. Mentioned it to Mick who sat next to me and we reflected on his legacy standing loud and proud across from us in the SAR stand. When the news did come through that evening I have really felt it ever since. Not only because, at 56, I am old enough to have seen him at LR with my dad in 75-76 and remember him and that team. Not only because I had his picture, as well a poster with individual pictures of all the players of that squad, on my bedroom wall. Mostly it is because of the connection my dad had with him. My dad turned 80 at the start of Feb and was also diagnosed with Alzheimer's last November. Any time QPR gets mentioned dad somehow manages to turn the conversation around to how he "knew the name of every player back then". Stan Bowles this, Stan Bowles that. Dad adored Stanley Bowles. Dad also tells the same story every time Stan is mentioned that a number of times dad's pub band was playing in a pub in Shepherd's Bush or East Acton back in the mid-70s and Stan and some of the players would be in and a number of times Stan would come up and ask my dad if he could sing a song. They would spend 5 mins during the band break trying to come up with a song that Stan actually knew the words too, but he never made his singing debut with the JB4 unfortunately. As many have mentioned there is nothing better than hearing Brian Moore commentating on QPR games from that era and the way he would say "Stanley Bowles" after a goal had gone in. I think part of my emotions around his passing is the reflecting on the innocence and enjoyment of our childhoods in the 70s. The hot summers, Roy of the Rovers, Star Wars, Olivia Newton John in Greece, and QPR were actually a GREAT FOOTBALL TEAM then!! I sound like I am the one who is 80 now not dad. My own limited dealings with Mr S Bowles were when I was the "Unpaids Clerk" at NWB Gunnersbury in the mid-80s and having to stamp "Refer to Drawer - Account Closed" on the cheques he had recently written out to 'cash' or the name of a pub in Brentford, even though the account had been closed 2 years before. Same old wily Stan finding a way for getting some money to buy everyone a beer in the pub on a Saturday night. Rest in Peace Stanley Bowles and thank you. |
