if the price is right then sell him. but it needs to be a very decent price because since he’s put the injury woes behind him he looks like a rolls royce centre back at this level.

we were one pulled hamstring in 2024 to either him or Cook away from relegation this season

being offered another season probably hinged on what money he was prepared to accept. I’d like to think that he’s keen to stay in London for family reasons and willing to accept a relatively modest 1 season deal. That together with playing a key role with coaching the young keepers then it probably makes sense.

his first couple of months should be ignored because he came in with no pre-conceived ideas, with a squad low on confidence needing to learn to play to his methods.

He also gave all players a clean slate. It took him a little while to figure out that Dozzell, Kakay and Kelman should be nowhere near the first team or the bench for that matter. Also what we were missing and what our best team looked like.

Since beginning of Feb we've won 8, drew 6 and lost 4 which is a shade below a 50% win rate. That's what I'll judge him on.

he was half of the Chris and Les manager/DOF dream team once Redknapp was sacked in Feb 2015 when we were still in the premier league.

hard to believe that they were both still employed by QPR nearly 9 years on from that

Player of the season

i’d probably go JCS edging out Cook.

it has to go to a defensive player - not enough goals being scored and assisted to warrant an offensive player being in the frame

QPR are 100-1 with bet365 this morning to be relegated. With just 2/3 games to go that’s good enough for me.

With all this talk of strikers...

Les

always found it ironic that we never had a decent striker in the 8 years he was our DoF

Managers matter(?) – Preview
at 07:49 6 Apr 2024

if we stay up then what comes next for Marti are better job offers, that’s the way it works.

it’ll be naive to think we’ll have him for much of next season at the rate he’s going. we should be looking for our next manager already.

we need 2 wins and a draw (or 1 win and 4draws) to be safe. we may get away with less.

if we don’t win at Swansea on monday and don’t beat Sheff.W next saturday then we’re back in trouble considering our remaining games.

Richard’s awol ?

bit harsh - SWP went into semi-retirement from the moment he came in the door and was a leech on QPR for 4 and a half seasons. bet he was loving it ... we made him a multi-millionaire and got 1 goal and no assists in return. Someone needed to call him out.

my take was that Redknapp wanted him off the wage bill so he could bring someone in who gave a fck.

Jimmy Dunne at RB - yay or indeed nay?
at 07:43 18 Feb 2024

yay from me - Cannon is obviously struggling with an injury

Dan Burn has proved that a big and not particularly quick big lump can do a very good job at full back. Plus he’s an extra big man to help with our ongoing corner issue.

you're on .... I'll happily donate a tenner to Tiger Cubs if as I said 45 points is not enough to stay up this year

You're doing it differently to me :-)

45 points was enough to stay up last season and 38 points the season before that.

only 2 seasons in the last 10 would 45 points have not been enough to stay up.

also this year's top 4 teams are well on course course for breaking the record tally for their accumulated points so i'd be very surprised if 45 is not enough.

btw. millwall are 14-1 to be relegated and that looks like value to me

45 points would be enough to stay up most seasons and judging by how things are going at the moment then it should be more than enough for survival this season.

If we can avoid injuries to our key players (ie. the current defence + chair) then I'm sure this will be achieved.

Armstrong must’ve wondered what the feck was going on for our second goal when one of our own midfielders made a run beyond him. When does that ever happen?
