I would love a LfW podcast. There isn't that much QPR content out there, compared the, say, Leeds. As per Clives comments on open all rs, I too started to follow quite a few Leeds YouTube channels recently in order to soak up their salty tears. Their output is impressive, but I guess being the greatest team in Europe means they have the fan base to make it worthwhile.
Anyway, with Patreon can't we order Clive to start a podcast. I think that's how it works.
From the BBC - "His exit means Huddersfield are now looking for a sixth permanent manager since Carlos Corberan left in July 2022." Ooof, that is some record. Like QPR during the four year plan.
Benjamin Bloom did his championship manager ratings video, and Marti came in third behind Ruhl, even though Marti has a higher PPG. I think that is mostly down to Sheff Wednesday being even more of a basket case than we were at the beginning of the season.
The host has some mannerisms that drive me a little stir crazy, constantly sighing etc. I get enough of that from my kids!
I really enjoyed Clive's contribution and his take about Marti Cifuentes' relationships with the players relying on "nothing more than pop psychology based on a couple of YouTube videos" essentially summed up 99% of football forum content!
Just coming to say that - I think I mentioned it on the match thread beforehand as it was the one thing giving me confidence. Having consumed a lot of Leeds content over the last couple of days (feed me those salty tears!) a couple of their supporters pointed out other mitigating factors, including its a young squad that might not have necessarily come across a bear-pit like a tight Loftus Road on a Friday night.
Also, I think Leeds were expecting us to sit back and attack on the counter like so many others have done with a low block, but we took the game to them. And, of course, we are a lowly team fighting relegation. Why can't we just roll over and die?
After reading Clive's article on Marti's arrival back in October, I guess we can say the finger puppets worked:
Right man. Right time? – Column30th Oct 2023 22:25 A year later than planned, Marti Cifuentes is the new QPR manager with the Spaniard’s arrival confirmed late tonight – but this is a very different club and team to a year ago, and this is a herculean task in front an idealist coach.20
yeah, the pen was pretty clear cut - defender was wrong side of the attacker when he went for the ball, missed the ball completely and took their player out
I'm going to put my pollyanna hat on with the stat that Clive mentioned in the Preston Preview:
"in the Championship when teams play ‘away fatigued’ (that is an away game after another game within three or four days) their win percentage goes down 15% versus the baseline. When it’s a double away (an away game within four days of another away game) that ratio drops again from even that point"
That is exactly what Leeds will be facing this Friday - its about as good a time to play them as any
