It's a pity they don't look closer to home, there's 4/5 quality youngters down the road in Hayes and Yeadings U18 side.

Both my sons have worked with him, can't say what i'd like to on here, suffice to say he leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. Was very old school in his ways,he'll probably only be here untill Paul Lambert gets another job !

Looks like the youth policy is starting to show green roots of recovery
at 17:40 21 Sep 2015

The youth set up is in chaos going back years, not helped in anway by Redknapps time here and his old pals act, which is currently being carried on with the clubs policy of recently letting go and getting rid of 2 quality youth coaches and replacing them with ex Spurs assistant youth coaches.
One of these coaches offered my son to the club,as he told them he was better than anything the club currently had at U16/18 level and they never even looked at him saying they had all their Scholars, most of which were signed against this coaches recommendation. They recently let a quality keeper go because he's not going to make 6ft 3.You really couldn't make it up.Don't expect anyone to come through for a long time from that age group.

QPR's "Academy"
at 08:59 12 May 2015

Norwich have one at Stonebridge Park, you couldn't make it up.
In fact from what i've been told the situation behind the scenes regarding the academy and quality of players is worse than we realise.

Shouldn't the original question have been -"has he made a good job of ruining our club ? "

Dennis Wise' son
at 13:19 9 Jan 2015

I wouldn't worry to much, most of the clubs my sons have been to all have ex pros kids playing for them at youth level and none of them are much cop. It's all jobs for the boys, lazy coaching and from what i 've heard not a great loss.
A lot of the time they get picked and moved around at the expense of good kids who don't get a look in if their Dad wasn't a pro. Also can you imagine a young coach sitting down with Mr and Mrs Beckham and telling them their boy isn't good enough !!!! It's all boxxocks, that's one of the reasons English football is in such a state.

The whole English system is a joke!
at 21:58 20 Jun 2014

well here's one for you, while the media are cursing the fact we don't produce Pirlo type players,my son is 14,has a left foot like a wand, plays centre mid,and plays in a Pirlo like way,has been in pro youth for 6 years, was on trial at Brentford earlier in the season, played really well in his games, was well liked by the coaches, told he was technically excellent ,but isn't aggressive enough, and wants to slow the game down to much too keep possession instead of having more pace, quick feet and press press press ! Some of the other boys who are agressive, have pace and quick feet actually aren't very good footballers, but they can do a stepover but can't control or pass a ball to save their lives. So we have a boy who has natural ability and they want to change his whole way of playing to fit in to the system devised by the prxxks at the FA because that's what it says in the coaching manual. This is not a post about how good my son is but to highlight just how sh-t the current system is,and the trouble is i've seen it all before over the last 30 years, nothing changes below the surface. We have a lot of talent in this country but the sytem and many of the people in it so flawed that we never exploit it properly.

The problem with English football starts at the bottom with grass roots and pro youth levels. We'll continue to struggle to compete untill radical changes are made at that level. While we continue to have this total pre occupation with power and pace in all positions,eg identikit footballers,it will never change. The changes currently in place are not enough,i also speak from personal experience as a youth at pro clubs and seen it exactly the same 30 odd years on with my own sons. Its same old same old, jobs for the boys and believe me some of the people coaching the younsters ,with big qualifications ,haven't even played the game.

How did they play for England?
at 22:49 9 Jun 2014

Had to join this thread, mine is Luther Blisset, trained with him at watford in my teens, watched him play and to this day is the only person i know who could dribble a ball with his shins !!!! xxxxing useless and got capped by England,oh how low we have sunk down the years and they still think hes a legend at watford.Graham Taylor the man who single handedly set English football back years and we've never recovered.

30 mins, Derby v Albion 0-0
at 19:13 11 May 2014

well looking back at some of the posts there are a few saying how good /excellent Derby are and like i said we're not that good ourselves but listening
to Sky going on about a"stunning " performance against a very poor Brighton side you'd think they were Barca. In my opinion they're not that good.

Hang on a minute,i know we're not that great ourselves, but fxxk me we're
not talking about Barcelona here,it's Derby an okayish side in a pxxs poor championship and the tv pundits and some of you guys on here are eulogising about them.As for Brighton, all they've done is make Derby look better than they are.

To the original poster, yeah cos Stan came across really well with his interview on the pitch the other week didn't he,at least Rodney has a personality.
It really bugs me that people slag Rodney off, especially those that may never have seen him play,he was simply fantastic, the best player i have ever seen and if it wasn't for him on the pitch Rangers would have achieved very little, and there would have been no place for further mavericks like Stan, who ,don't get me wrong was world class, but to me,not in Rodneys class. Both never got the recognition they deserved.I have met both,Rodney when i was a lad and he was great ,Stan as an adult, and he couldn't get his nose out of the sporting life.At least Rodney says it as he sees it and doesn't sit on the fence.

What was the problem in Ellerslie ?
at 22:07 17 Feb 2014

Just for the people who were'nt there, and for those who are trying to defend the bloke as a lovely fellow,he got slapped for abusing the people around him who bood Zamora.I don't boo our players but i don't paticularly care if people do ,the've paid there money so entitled to their view.We also were'nt apparently supporting the team, well at the last count i've been going 47 years, and i'm suddenly not loyal,he then turned his rage on this lad whose Dad took offence at what he was saying. I can assure you most people were pi##ed off with the decision to bring him on,but it didn't give him the right to abuse people just because they have a different viewpoint whatever it is.Just as an aside his son has been calling people all the c##nts under the sun and giving it large today on twitter or whatever it is ,and it would appear they have been taking photos of the people and their seat names and numbers around them whose opinions they don't agree with, snidely at games, and posting them on the internet with abusive headings, yeah they're a lovely pair, the unofficial QPR thought police.

I think the fact that passions were already running high and he was abusive to the son after he was asked to stop was too much for the dad,who in all fairness lost it ,as i think most of us would if our son was being spoken to like that,i know i would. However football is all about opinions, some we agree with some we don't,but you can't stand up and abuse people because they're not the same as yours.

I was sat not far behind the incident and when Zamora came on the guy booed, and fair enough in my opinion,we all pay our money and are entitled to our say,i don't boo our players but certainly questioned the decision to bring him on.The problem was the bloke started to get abusive to the lad, whose Dad took offence, and off it went.To be honest he was told to shut up a few times and calm down but he went on and on and there weren't many people around me who sided with him.At the end of the day if you don't like other peoples opinions at football don't go because you'll always get someone who sees it different to you.To stand up and start abusing people around you because you don't like their's, you deserve all you get.Still Redknapps decision to bring Zamora on to change the game worked,we went 3-1 down !!!!!
