See Tickets - Nightmare 15:47 - Jan 22 with 4532 viewswelshdale

Ordered 4 tickets on Monday to be posted out to me, didn't receive a confirmation email so called them up noe to be told I will have to go to the ticket office on match day for the club to reprint the tickets. I have to take with me my reference number which guess what... is on the email they did not issue

Anyone else had trouble?

I was just told "okay that's gone through" and not given a final price (still have no idea how much their booking fee is). I was told by the club that no tickets were being posted out and it was all collection only. I hope mine is there.

Everything went through great for me transaction wise and I got my confirmation email.
However, the lass on the phone said tickets would be sent to my home address, but the confirmation email says my receipt can be used to collect tickets!

FFS!

As may have been mentioned previously, presumably the club will monitor supporter feedback on this new service. Also, are any of these issues able to be taken forward by the Trust on behalf of fans affected?

We have a club that sometimes is (barely ) Non League standard. Surely the idea of ordering by phone should be to be able to have them delivered to your home, so you don't need to piss around queuing up TWICE for the match.

Many mistakes have been made, during the whole process, this being yet another balls up.

All of this while the teams and supporters of the club, and some parts of the club are performing very well.

It's debatable if we are ready for the next level on the field.
We certainly aren't off it.
If they appoint this new marketing exec, I hope (s)he brings the front office of this club into this millennium?!?

To be fair to 'the front office' it's not their fault
They can only work with the tools at their disposal.
I would suggest the CD is somewhat of an IT Dinasaur and
Doesn't have the knowledge of what's required or the benefits
It brings. If you look At his Co website you'll see what I mean.

Hardly the point. The club EMPLOYS people to do their jobs and that includes the basic ability to arrange ticket sales for relevant fixtures.

As someone says elsewhere, we are simply not geared up for Championship football (off the field) and unless the ticketing fiasco changes rapidly there will be many, many chaotic days ahead and dozens of disappointed and angry supporters berating the club.

It may be that we end up in the play-offs against (for example) Preston North End. Another potential 'all ticket' match.

It needs sorting. It's not acceptable.

Sorry, but I can't agree with you batman. Not having tickets on sale for the Stoke cup tie for non-season ticket holders before (or at least after) the Crawley game was just missing a huge opportunity. Firstly it gives people chance to get a ticket in their pocket (and Dale money in the bank) well ahead of the game and secondly it would almost certainly have encouraged a few more fans to attend the Crawley game. Win-win. No IT in the world fixes that. It's just common sense!

Sorry but your both right and wrong
In all Co the Chairman or chief executive set the tone for what goes on further down the line
Regardless of what the office staff do, if their not being given the tools to do the job then
It's the responsibility of those above them.
2 points.
No 1 I agree lack of foresight in allowing Non season ticket holders not to purchase at Crawley game either before or after the match
No 2 I disagree it's the fault of the office staff
In both cases it's the Management at fault (not football wise)
Now, playing devils advocate for the sake of it, this could be a result of years of cutting our
Cloth accordingly, and that mindset may still exist.
Here's hoping the new marketing person has the strength of character to shake off this malais

IT infrastructure and marketing are two completely different things, and both require their own skill sets. The new marketing bod should be clear about what's required to move the club forward and when interviewed, he or she should be interviewing the board to ensure they'll have the support to implement some pretty basic plans. Those plans will then need specialist IT skills and/or liaison with an external IT source to ensure the systems are fit for purpose.

Exactly, and this is wHere the Board of Directors seem weak.

Didn't turn out too shabby
We are by all accounts now in a position to do so,
Hopefully the Board follow it thorough

Ffs got me stressing now. I ordered four tickets on Sunday and also didn't receive a confirmation email. Payment has come out of the bank though. I just assumed I'd pick them up prior to the game like in the previous round. Does anyone know if this is the case for Monday?

Batman - I used the term front office generically to mean all of the off-field personnel and yes, you are bang on - it goes right up to the chairman. I am not blaming the receptionist who answers the phone for deciding when to sell the tickets - I am blaming the organisation top-to-bottom for being unable to do what the club needs to do to (a) survive and (b) progress.

At L1 level, let's make no bones about it - maximising revenue comes from selling tickets (+ a nice cup run and tv money helps!) and an important aspect of our future success will come from succeeding as a retail organisation, especially as we get bigger. If you can't get what you are selling (tickets) to people who want to buy them (fans) you are missing out on revenue opportunities and jeopardising our potential progress. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link and the retail side has to keep pace with the success on the field or we risk going backwards.

Play-off matches have to be all-ticket under Football League regulations.

Maybe we'll dig out the design of those from the Darlington game........

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

I was told that no tickets were being sent out at all. So if the See Tickets man told you they would be - as he told me - then he's misinformed. My ticket was at the club.

With regards to ticketing. Using See Tickets is fine, but FFS WEB TICKETING PLEASE. People barely use Telephones to talk these days and they certainly don't like giving bank details over them.

See Tickets - Nightmare on 02:46 - Jan 23 with 3451 viewspioneer

Its not simply that we are not making progress, it seems to me we are actually getting worse. We had two big cup games last season and didnt seem to make such a cock up of ticketing.

those in charge need to get there heads out of the sand (or perhaps something worse). A visit to any modest non league or Div 2 outfit would be able to show them how to run an on line ticketing system.

Little Rochdale, little ambition.

Does the club have to give See Tickets a cut of the ticket price or do theyjust get paid booking fee,s.
Wouldn't it better to get a temp in to take booking,s over the phone.Cant stand giving money to See Tickets after not being able to get a refund of a concert when they change the date of a gig from weekend to mid week.

Looking at their website they don't charge the club for the service they just take the booking fee which is added to the value of the ticket.

Which is probably why the club 'chose' them to do the ticket sales - the cheapest option, not the best option.

If only we could find an administrator with KH's ambition, drive, foresight . . . .
