Johnson must have had it on himself at some stage. They were awful, we were reasonably ace and you felt that if we'd got out of third gear or taken advantage of a few more of the openings we created then it could have been very silly.

Henderson had his best game of the season in the midfield three, leave him there for a while now, and Andrew did as much as you want from a no. 9 at this level.

Word for the defence, best in the division. The improvements have been noticeable.

To get back to the thread title, I'm very concerned.

It's easy for us to label the visiting fans as Yorkshire men, full of beer and banter, going to the football, and we welcome 1295 x £23.

However, when around 500 of these prefer to take their amusement from watching a man wearing a plant pot, and to sing about it for 20 minutes, you do have to wonder about the rationale of many Barnsley fans.

Putting it into monetary terms, Barnsley fans have paid Dale around £3000 to come and sing about a man wearing a plant pot on his head.

Even in a world filled with bionic drugs, this is not normal behaviour, and it does prompt the "can we play you every week" riposte.

But it will be glossed over as football banter and nowt as queer as Yorkshire folk.

Ask yourself though: Have you ever taken a plant pot to a match?

Leave em be.........they were making their own entertainment as their Beloved Team had thrown the towel in........they had to sing about summat........a plant pot it is then!

Love em.

After beating us 5-0 at their place last season, they still had to throw the towel in...because they still couldn't catch us.

Oh, remind me, what were we singing??

Jesus saves but Beasley scores off the rebound.

They planted pot on him.*

A joke. Poor one.

They were chucking a plant pot around and singing he's got a plant pot on his head. The police didn't like this and chucked a bloke out acording to the barnsley lot.

Barnsley fans 'plantpot' a Rochdale steward at Spotland yesterday. http://t.co/meZOV1p1we

It did go on for a worryingly long time. It turned a bit weird. They whipped themselves up into a frenzy at one stage.

Possession with progression.

isnt it just a gang of lads having a drunken sing song?

The game was over, the lads were having fun.

They are a good mob, had a few pints with them on the train coming back

Or would people prefer 3000 biffos giving it the big I AM ......

It was reasonably entertaining as the game started to resemble a pre-season friendly by the end.

Barnsley fans have been pretty good every time they've come to Spotland.

Against the £30k, we should factor in the weird looks from people I passed on the way home (potential fans) who could clearly hear "plant pot on his head" being sung from more than a mile away, who I dare say wouldn't have been encouraged to visit Spotland or even bother checking the result!

Their looks said something like "are you coming from the ground? You think that's entertainment?"

* before anyone accuses me of taking this too seriously, it's pretty much toc but nevertheless true!

I'm more than happy for Dale to demolish an opposing team to such an extent that their fans resort to singing about having a plant pot on their head.

It saved Johnson dogs abuse, so I imagine he'll be all in favour of it too. A few more hammerings, which aren't out of the question on yesterdays evidence, and it won't be plant pot heads the Barnsley fans are calling for!

Poor Carole, ( Dale head steward ) getting plant potted. It could have been worse with something bigger on her head.

Great point, the biffos and bury would have been spitting their dummies out all over the place, let's face it the majority are just a bunch of posturing young kids.

Credit to the Barnsley fans, they took defeat on the chin and didn't start trying to seek out Dale supporters after the game, they showed some class on Saturday. We need to get a plant pot for the Fleetwood match!!
