That's a very long wait for a scan by modern standards, especially given his status as a professional cricketer.
The thing is, if he had dislocated his shoulder you can't just leave it dislocated, it has to be popped back in fairly sharpish to prevent any further damage. Therefore, I'm slightly optimistic that there's no dislocation. | |

I would assume it is not dislocated as this would show on a standard x-ray ( although it could have dislocated on impact but popped back in) . If they are looking for a tear or strain in a muscle, tendon or ligament, the image on modern scans can be unclear if there is too much swelling around the injury. you sometimes have to wait a few days so that the swelling goes down enough to give a clearer scan image | | | |
