Hello,
We discussed this with the Hornets on Monday. Depending on ticket sales, the decision was to wait and see closer to the time. If numbers are 700 plus we will look at opening to ease pressure off the 1907 bar.
Another factor to consider is that if our match is unfortunately postponed but the Hornets' match goes ahead, The Ratcliffe will remain closed. This is because we would be switching on all coolers and creating waste in the beer lines. We need to consider the additional power consumption and wages. There are no upcoming events, which means the bars will not be used until the next football match on the 17th. | |

Update starting from this weekend.
The Ratcliffe and Dale Bar will now both open from 12pm. Happy Hour will still be running, this has now changed from 12pm-1pm. Unfortunately, we have received price increases from the brewery. We have slightly adjusted our prices to remain competitive with our rivals and the town centre.
Thanks for supporting our matchday bars. Our bars provide a vital income to our club and we appreciate your visit.
Unfortunately, due to its high purchase price and short shelf life, we had to discontinue Beavertown Neck Oil. We may revisit this matter in the future. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I'm sorry for the delay in responding. We have discussed the possibility of buying a dart board, but unfortunately, we haven't made a final decision yet. Although we have thought about opening mid-week, we are concerned about the cost and the potential risk of running at a loss since we don't know how many people will attend. Furthermore, we don't have access to Sky Sports, which limits the sports events we can show on our screens.

Great that your having a think about it as I reckon a nice set up with a digital scoreboard and good lighting won't cost too much.and if it takes off, then another one could be purchased. Not fussed about watching it though. I dont think its just an older persons game. think with the young luke litler explosion on the PDC scene, raising the profile of the game it could enthuse more youth to pick up the game and go local for a game and a few beers. I was in a pub on halifax Road last friday and there was a group of 20 somethings all firing at treble 20's.enjoying themselves. | | | |
