Another fine example of goalkeepers and playing out from the back. Why won’t they learn?

Seems Spurs have a weird obsession with it too, every time I seem to watch them they're losing the ball across their back line, granted they've also knocked a few late goals in on the counter like that, but god knows how many they've conceded playing that way

Pickford is one of the best at it too. Palmer still had an awful lot to do - he's having a great season.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Happened in a Champs League QF last week as well - Dortmund messing about in the first few minutes at a place like Atletico Madrid. Makes you wonder what's happened to the age old no brainer 'don't give them a sniff in the first half hour and get the crowd on their backs'

Doesn't matter now that apparently, take a look at the possession stats for Newcastle v Spurs, absolutely brilliant percentages..... then don't forget to check the score

We did similar vs Barnet and Biffos - it surely should apply that if you have a tough away game against a strong opponent, you clear your lines early on and don't give anything away

...and as kids, we were always instructed "never pass across your own penalty area"
