Sorry to see BG go, as he brought a touch of quality to the squad, but nothing like as disappointed as 4 years ago when Le Fondre was sold to Rotherham (and went on to score 30 goals that season). His going also removes the uncertainty of him not playing through suspension.
But it does leave the squad with only Donnelly as a forward with any sort of scoring record. | | | |

A good move all round really.
Hopefully at least £75,000 as our half of the fee and something similar in wages on top of this, should allow Hilly to get a decent out and out striker.
I feel we have enough cover in the wide area's, hence KH saying that he wouldn't replace Bobby Grant.

I'm sorry to see him go. We'll certainly miss his quality, work rate and seemingly guaranteed sweet left foot curlers from 25 yards!
BUT it was the best for all parties that he moved on. Another guarantee was him missing 5+ games through suspension. The upcoming court case is bad publicity we can do without, especially when I expect a lot of fans would have demanded we sack him if found guilty. He didn't want to be here and that can't have had a positive effect on the squad.
He'll have been among our top earners, so it means more in the budget if Hilly changes his mind on needing more firepower. As things stand, I'd rather the wage was spent on a decent centre half!
Any fee upwards of £150K is good business, even with 50% of that going to Scunthorpe. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]
