17 for an adult and 12 for a child. After reading that Stanley had reduced admission for their own fans. We have a substantial increase on last year! Any one else feel like me and are passing on principle at this move?

Accrington Stanley - How Much! ?!??! on 17:48 - Sep 18 by trueblue83

Fair enough, but has there been a change of information?

I understand Accy have said pay on the day, but have I missed somewhere our 'press office' has said you cannot pay on the day?

What I understand is that the club have said something along the line of 'tickets are available from the ticket office', which does not necessarily mean it is an all ticket game?

For me, whenever a game has been all ticket, the club has usually done all it can to make that clear to the supporters. They have not done that here and hence, you can pay on the gate.

I also understand that the club should not be prompted by what appears on this messageboard, but the club, like me, may be a little unaware of the reason for confusion until they read this board, and then they put out a statement for everyone's clarity? This messageboard undoubtedly assists the club, but why should we get uptight about that?

From what I've seen, this board does not always prompt the club to react, but the club reacts to clear up confusion when it becomes apparent (as is the case here)?

Nonsense. They constantly react to things on here. Tail wags dog continuously.

And who has created the confusion in the first place?

1. There was no info about the accy tickets till it was raised on here last Thursday. A story appeared on the o/s on Friday saying the club had an initial allocation of tickets so did that mean fans needed a ticket or not? What about getting this info to fans who don't use the o/s? Why wasn't it in the ob? Facebook? Twitter? We were at home on Saturday and people needed to know they had to bring extra money for an accy ticket.

2. Tannoyman announces/shouts/screams on Saturday that Accrington "IS A TICKET MATCH". Does or does that not imply you must have a ticket?

3. Fans air their confusion on here. One rings accy for confirmation and is told you can pay on the gate. Why did it need a fan to do that?

4. The story on the official Site is amended to say you can pay on the day, but the change to this story isn't alerted to fans and the story has now slipped well down the homepage of the official Site. Perhaps they hoped nobody would notice the change so they could claim it was righting the first place. Or maybe they just didn't think.

5. It is now apparent, almost a week later, that the game isn't all ticket, fans don't need a ticket and can pay on the gate. Why wasn't that the message in the first place?

6. There's still nothing on Facebook, twitter and the ob.

Take all that back to whoever you are speaking for at the club.

Working for the club??? Good one. Another assumption that you have got wrong! (A pattern emerges)

I'm an ordinary fan who despairs at some of the petty crap that gets blown out of all proportion on here.

"They constantly react to things on here". "Tail wags dog". Yea, an thats probably why you do it, makes you feel all clever and important, your license to try and show how knowledgable you are!!

If the team doesn't give us something to cry about, lets target the board eh?

And the best bit is, the minute somebody has a difference of opinion to certain members (or group of members) they get patronised and belittled, so a large chunk of our support probably cannot be arsed signing up and putting up with stars like yourself who just offer arrogance to a difference of opinion. Blissful ignorance reigns.

Do you expect only those people who come onto this board to know how to get a ticket, or do you think some supporters don't need their arses wiping for them?

Oh blimey - we're getting worse than the bury fans on here with the bitchiness and internecine behaviour.

Of course, that BigDaveMyClock doesn't help matters with his grooming of Poofter Diddy.

I went into Tesco today and noticed Seabrooks Beef crisps multi pack display were actually situated above the cheese & onion price label.

I were simply aghast.

Luckily, I met my Shakespeare.

Hopefully, you don't see the useful points in this thread as being petty, because they really aren't supposed to be. Can only speak for myself, but there are bound to be others who fall into the same category: anything put on here is done so out of genuine desire to see improvement.

I agree completely that some supporters are different and don't need to know or have a desire to know about tickets/shirts/food and drink etc etc, but there are some that do. This thread and other fans who commented on Saturday illustrate there are some who want to know exactly what was going on with the tickets. That away ticket information is rarely ever an issue shows that on this occasion there are some lessons that maybe could be learnt so that improvements are made in the future - everyone benefits and threads like this aren't even needed.

Oh and I got a ticket on Saturday and the customer service was brilliant.

I never said you worked for the club.

What assumptions have I made?

The rest of your post makes little sense and certainly doesn't address the issue that the club have not handled this well.

Why not say: 'We have received an allocation of tickets from accrington. Although the game is not all ticket and you can pay on the day, we advise fans to buy in advance to save time and congestion at the turnstiles'.

Simple question trueblue:

If you took the time and trouble to visit the clubshop during the week to buy an Accy ticket, under the mistaken impression (due to lack of/mis-information that a ticket was required from the club), would you be pissed off, or not, to find that you didn't need to do that?

I got my ticket on Saturday, thanks.

No it doesn't.

What about the statement/paragraph I've suggested? Don't you think that would have avoided any confusion?

Why didn't the club put something in the Ob, on Twitter and on Facebook? That's what those sources are there for.

In this information-rich age, there's no excuse for just one shoddy story on the o/s (which was later changed, meaning those who had already read it wouldn't know it had been changed) and a tannoy announcement which you can't hear properly or choose not to listen to.

These are valid points that would have avoided any confusion.

Supporters where informed last week that you cant pay at the turnstiles at the Accrington game and would have to purchase a ticket at the Accrington ticket office prior to entering the ground. Immediately i envisaged a load of fans converging at the ticket office prior to kick off and the chaos that would cause.

Rochdale FC announced you can buy your ticket in advance though from Spotland and i then thought thats a good idea it will avoid the queues at the Acrrington ticket office on the day so i jump in my car, drive up to Spotland and buy the tickets in advance.

A few days later it transpires that journey was a wasted one because now we can just pay at the turnstile on the day, information found out by one of our own supporters who went to the trouble of phoning the Crown ground.

The fans are treated like mugs and i am now left wondering if our club recieved payment for selling these tickets under false pretences (misleading supporters)? I think its a fair question to ask bearing in mind the scandalous debit card charges fiasco.

That's the whole point. Tannoyman said "THIS IS A TICKET GAME", only it isn't, which only came to light after someone on here decided to ring Accrington.

Then and only then was the story on the o/s changed. Tail wagging dog ....

It should have been crystal clear in the first place. This thread shows it was anything but.

I wasn't offering you something you wouldn't be able to appreciate, just as you seem too obtuse to appreciate the simple concerns expressed by genuine fans who just want to watch the Dale at one of our closest neighbours.

You accuse others of being patronising and abusive, but those aren't characteristics you seem to have any qualms in displaying.

You've managed to generate more ill-feeling through your lack of insight than anyone.

And if Accy's communication skills aren't up there with erm... Nick Clegg's, an apology from either/both clubs wouldn't have gone amiss to those fans who made an unnecessary trip to the ground, even if they ended up in the fookin clubshop

Quite possibly a side effect, but then I'm speculating also.

Stock aside in the shop, what is your gripe, if you never set foot in there? Personally love going in there - always made to feel welcome, good banter, chat about games, try and count how many pies Alasdair is eating, but I don't have all day etc.

Actually, it was a downright lie. I once put my right foot inside the shop, S/T in hand, to claim my free Dale scarf. It was 2.50pm on a matchday. No-one appeared so I thought I'd best get into the groundbefore some tw@t nicked my reserved seat.

I thought about it, but since a Luton scumbag nicked my only other Dale scarf from around my neck at the age of 11 I've had an aversion to scarf-theft.

(Possibly explains quite a lot really. Well maybe not, except I've never wanted to join the BNP)
