Anyone on here been to Paris recently? Looking at going for a few nights and wondering if anyone has a nice hotel to reccomend quite close to the centre of Paris.

Not really stayed in the centre but the metro system there is quite good so even if you're a bit of a way out, it's only a short journey to the main areas. Oh avoid the suburb 'Sarcelles' like the fooking plague! A hurrendous place. |  |

This is on a quiet side street off the main road between Gare d'est and Notre Dame. We wlaked from Gar D'est in 10 mins (downhill). Buses go past the end of the road, metro two bl;ocks away. Its a quiet boutique style hotel with upscale rooms. Its about 20 mins walk to Notre dame
Also a cheaper (by a bit) alternative is best western albert premier which is right next to Gare D'est with buses and metro there. Rooms smaller and area not so nice (typical main station area) but OK for a clean bed.
