Many years ago I was in Birch Hill having my tonsils out over that Autumn weekend when the clocks go backwards and you gain an hour's sleep.
We were all sleeping soundly at around 5.00 am on the Sunday morning when the sister marched into the ward shouting " Come on, come on, nurse these patients should be being woken up by now ! "
The nurse said " Why ? It's not 5 o clock yet ".
Then it dawned on the sister she'd put her alarm clock forward instead of back.
After apologising to everyone concerned she found an empty bed in the ward, told the nurse " Wake me up at 6.45 am " and pulled the screens around the bed and went to sleep !
Nowadays there wouldn't be an empty bed. |  | | |

There have been more than one example over the years of me being unaware the clocks have changed, rocking up to the pub an hour before opening and getting to a game at half time being some I blame the Farmers. [Post edited 25 Mar 2018 18:37]
