Only found this as I happen to be in San Francisco at the moment, who are one of the teams playing in the matches.
We are described"as a sporting loser come good"
Could we ask for a better comment then that from the BBC?

We were former national champions at Baseball - just before the war, and I believe they played some of their games at Spotland as well as the old Dane Street Cricket ground where Asda is.
