Highlights are on 3 hours earlier than usual, not falling asleep watching it.
Don't have to put up with Steve Claridge's expresioless face and morbid tone.
Negatives...
Two main presenters haven't got a clue about football.
No commentary over some games is just bizarre
I quite like the format, if they had a pair of knowledgable presenters (like Helen Chaimberlain and Max Rushden) I think it would work.

I'd say Kelly Cates knows quite a lot, not sure about banter matey boy though.
The show was shite. It isn't fancy or fresh, it was just shite. When BBC first tried MOTD 2 in the 90s they did this and it was shite too. The only Football show with fans in the audience that worked was Fantasy Football, and that wasn't a highlights show.

Cates would be fine with the right format. If Chamberlain did it I'd not watch it live.

Soccer AM was miles better than previous years. Fenners is a top presenter and thoroughly enjoyed him doing Fantasy Football. Think he works better on Soccer AM. Rushden had swapped with Fenners and is doing the Fantasy Football Show with Merson and it's still very good. | |
