The defeats for Bury, Rochdale and Oldham are of little significance as none are likely to win the League cup. The size of crowds is also of little significance as the money raised by all three clubs from the crowds will be minimal.
What was significant for the clubs is as follows;
Dale failed to score again. Need a striker.
Oldham lost to a good Championship side. Not really a problem.
Bury lost to their "rivals". Having spent a small fortune on players and wages over the last 14 months they haven't achieved much. |  |
