Yes. Great end to the season for them as they were underdogs all the way through. Dunno what will happen to their St Helens tie in now as Saints have a deal with a team in the Championship.
What a great weekend for Rochdale, out of the 7 GMR teams only the Dale won. Then Hornets thrash owdum in the final to get promoted. And Hogan is among the leading scorers in the league.

Which included fans for the higher division final played after the Hornets Oldham game. Lets not get carried away about Hornets, ffs. They still should not be playing on the Spotland pitch IMO.( or have they caught up with the rent, and contributed more to pitch work?) 12 wins from 12 Mayfield would be better value.

Hadn't spotted that. Then Beeb gives exactly the same attendance of 6800 for the Sheffield Batley match played afterwards.
It was a triple header game with the amateur final before the Hornets game- all on one ticket.
Its a bit churlish not to congratulate them - it was a do or die season for them and they did! And did the town proud (since they have now reverted to the Rochdale name).
Congratulations to them and good luck in the higher division.

Wow!! I have been so looking forward to the Fiji Ireland game that I completely overlooked this game.. have not seen a RL game since about 1998 but am looking forward to Hornets playing against teams I recognise.. Batley, Dewsbury.. Halifax might even pop along.. now thinking about Speedway memories and Doug Cronshaw in the Stock Car racing...Rochdale was once an Elysian field of Sporting activities.. ooh!!!! hang on that was the 70's when I remember yes!!! the football menu at Spotland was S*** , down with a bump.. How times have changed..' Come on the Dale' lets get on with that fantastic adventure.. Bring on' Pompey'

Still having a go at Hornets even in their finest hour for many a day Down Under. Pathetic really. Do Dale contribute to the pitch and are they up to scratch with rent as well? Suck it up mate,Hornets will be playing Championship rugby league next season and hopefully for many a year to come. Onward,Hornets,Onward!!

Let's get it right Diddy, Hornets would have been dead and buried and certainly would have been (rightly) out of Spotland long ago for rent dodging etc etc if not for the generosity of spirit and civic loyalty that Dale's directors gave them. I guess the subject of hornet's (possibly illegaly) shunting their share of Spotland off to the RFL is too painful to mention?
Great that Hornets have got a promotion, mentioning rent + Hornets in the same paragraph will bring little sympathy amongst the Dale fans who have subbed Hornets venue for far too long.
Maybe Hornets promotion will increase attendances from home and away fans - we will see how that benefits the stadium company - or will we? The Stad Co never saw it when Hornets were in the top division after leaving Morrisons so .... history makes me a cynic. Will be happy to be proved wrong. Watch this space......
