Striker Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro has rejected the offer made by the club and has opted to join Tranmere Rovers on a free transfer signing a two year deal with the Merseyside club.

The form of Akpa Akpro was one of the relativelty few highlights from last season, but with his contract expiring, it was always going to be a struggle to persuade the French striker to extend his time with Dale.

He had been picked out by the management as the top priority in terms of re-signing for the club, but it has proved not to be following the news that Akpa Akpro had signed for League One side Tranmere Rovers. This will come as a real blow and John Coleman will have turn to his other targets to spearhead his frontline for next season.

He leaves the club having scored fifteen goals for the club over the past two seasons. The highlight of that time will be his goals against Huddersfield in 2010-11 and QPR in the League Cup in 2011-12.
