Refwatch: Rochdale vs Stockport County Wednesday, 7th Dec 2022 15:00 by TVOS Hull referee Carl Boyeson is the man in the middle for Dale’s League Two fixture at home to Stockport County on Saturday. Having joined the league list in 2002, this will be Mr Boyeson’s 32nd game involving Dale, which means he has refereed us more times than any other official; yes, even more than Andy Haines! The most recent of the previous 31 matches was at Spotland last December, when he was in the middle for our 3-0 win over Newport. Carl’s most incident-packed Dale appointment came at the home of Chalky’s mob, Notts County, in January 2005. The match finished 0-0 and was a fairly timid affair, but Boyeson sent-off Dale’s Gareth Griffiths and Ernie Cooksey as we finished the afternoon with only nine men. Cooksey’s red card was later rescinded, meaning he was free to take part in the FA Cup tie at Charlton five days later. Back in our 2013/14 promotion season, Carl refereed two Dale games and proved a lucky charm as they produced six points. Early in the campaign he was in charge of the 1-0 home defeat of bury (a game in which Dale had Peter Vincenti sent-off) and in late-March he was the man in the middle as we won 2-0 at Wycombe. Carl’s full record of Dale matches is: Aug 02 Southend (h), L 1-2 Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
