Pritchard Joins Dale
Thursday, 10th Jul 2025 19:11 by Chaff

I've lost count of how many signings we've made and how many players we have but we've signed another one today, this time from local rivals Oldham Athletic.

No, it's not a goalkeeper but Joe Pritchard does seemingly play pretty much everywhere apart from in goal to be fair.

The 28-year-old joins Rochdale on an initial one-year deal from playoff winners Oldham Athletic.

Described as someone who can play attacking midfielder, either wing or either side as a wingback, it will almost be like having Swiss Army Jimmy back.

Pritchard came through the youth ranks at Tottenham before joining BBC Radio Manchester's favourite club Bolton Wanderers in the Championship in 2018 where he went on to make just 4 appearances.

John Coleman's Accrington Stanley was his next club, joining them in May 2019 and he was very much a first team regular, playing playing 112 games, scoring 18 times in League One and League Two.

Pritchard then sold his soul to join Milton Keynes in June last year but after struggling for game time, moved to Boundary Park in February this year and went on to play 16 games, scoring 4 goals, including one against Halifax in the playoff eliminator thing and then again against York in the semi-final.

Welcome to Rochdale Joe!
