Comment | Liverpool Want Van Dijk But Only If They Can Sell Us Sakho

To be honest I'd rather not have Sakho and sell Van Dijk to a club in a foreign country as then he cannot help a team in the same league to win the league and beat us twice. As good as Sakho is, Crystal Palace are currently set up to defend and therefore they do not get caught on the counter too much. Here we overcommit our full backs and therefore the defenders need to be good in the air and really good positionally, which Stephens and Yoshida are not really the best at. Therefore, we'd be giving our league rivals an advantage. I reckon we could do better however if the worst came to the worst I would accept Sakho as we have a tendency to make average players better and that is what we could do with him. I really don't want Liverpool to have Van Dijk though as then they would be superior defensively. |

As important as tomorrow is, I don't think this one game will decide whether Puel is good or not. I think that needs judging over a couple of seasons. I don't think we'll keep a clean sheet tomorrow but I do think that we will win. We have had to difficult games recently and although I don't think that we can keep the current centre back pairing next season, it is still nice to have them both at the club if required and for the bench. As long as we finish in the top 10 this season I'm happy because the top 10 and a cup final is more than a lot of fans get in a season.
Tomorrow we will have a strong team out and I reckon that we will either win 2-1 or 3-2 but it should be entertaining. Gabbiadini can hopefully score and Forster needs to have a convincing performance as he has not looked assured in the last 2 games, or for most of the season for the that matter. Tomorrow is not the be all and end all however it would be nice to come out with a positive result. I reckon Tadic and Redmond should start and the rest of the team should remain unchanged. I would like to see more of Clasie from the bench at some point and Hassen before the end of the season at least once so that I can be sure that we are not letting a really good player slip through ur fingers, although if Puel has chosen not to play him then I highly doubt we are.
Let's do well at Saint Mary's and get the 3 points and not judge Puel fully until halfway through next season!!! COYr |
