Clearly they aren't that intimidating after all either!
A few unwashed bums with barely a full set of teeth between them and handful of feral kids shouting SCUMMA every time we took a throw didn't really have the desired effect. [Post edited 26 Sep 2019 10:43]

I cant decide whether I would like to hammer them 5-1, just to go one better than them, or a 1-0 last minute winner like you mention.

Obviously we need everyone to stay calm and be composed. The skates will know they cant beat us on quality so will be trying all the dirty tricks to rough us up and make it awkward.
I would just like to see the more experienced players out there who can handle that and wont let the occasion get to them. I think Shane Long is one of them along with PEH, Romeu, Bertrand etc. [Post edited 19 Sep 2019 16:48]

Cant believe I am actually typing this but I would like to see Shane Long start this one with Adams up top. One thing Shane Long can do is handle himself and give a bit back. |

Personally I think its great that he is kicking off about this. The more attention he brings to himself/Portsmouth the more people will associate Portsmouth as a whole with him.
In fact cannot think of a better person to travel the length of the country representing them.
I am sure they will argue that he is the definition of passion but in reality, everybody else just sees him for what he is. A crusty old oddball that needs a good wash. Its sadly ironic he happens to support Pompey. [Post edited 11 Sep 2019 16:52]

I would love to go but as Darthvader says, tickets have no chance of making it to members. I don't think there will be much trouble. This idea of Fratton Park being some kind of cauldron is just another Portsmyth.
I went back when they first got promoted to the Premier League. Bark is worse than their bite. Other than the result the worst thing about the day was the lock in at full time! [Post edited 9 Sep 2019 15:04]

What I would give to get a ticket for this! However just being a member this season (typically having not got a season ticket for the first time in years!) looks like I will have to settle for watching it down the pub. I'm going for a 5-1 win for the Saints!

I understand he wants to give everybody a chance but what is worrying me is that Ralph has been playing Hoedt a fair bit in pre season.I hope he doesn't feel that keeping Hoedt is the answer. All of our CB's are bang average at best (Bednarek aside maybe). If we can get a decent one in and maybe another CM then I would say its a decent window but otherwise its a very poor window and a season of hoping we can just outscore other teams! |
