Saints Flyer - Not The Ticket

Yawn. As said above, unless you were going to let people in for free, we were never going to get that much more than 10k against Shrewsbury. You are a very strange, bitter man.

Brian Clough was gone by 1995. Frank Clark was Forest manager at that time.

Saints V Rochdale The Verdict

Very harsh on Guly, thought he did reasonably well when he came on. But of course because you think he's Cortese's signing (Even though you really have no idea), you have to criticize him.

Stop saying the performance shows that the players were behind Pardew. You don't know that at all, you can't read their minds. We didn't win 8-0 every week when AP was in charge, and there's no guarantee the result would be any different had he been in charge. As bad as things were yesterday we dominated much of the game, and had enough chances to win, and on another day Puncheon would have gone on to win 3-1. We played much worse than that at times last season, but ended up winning. We lost because of bad finishing and bad defending, that's nothing to do with how the manager sent the players out to play.

I look forward to the next match report, where you'll no doubt try and twist anything you can into another pathetic knock against Cortese. Stop talking about how the players feel, when in reality you have no clue.

"at Bristol the squad showed that he still had the dressing room in both their performance and body language whatever rumour might say otherwise, that seemed to be confirmed by the lacklustre performance against Swindon".

How do you explain the Plymouth and Leyton Orient games then, when we put in just as lacklustre a performance as we did against Swindon. Did Pardew not have the dressing room in those games? (Or the many poor performances last season) The Swindon game was exactly the same as the Plymouth game, we were all over them until they scored, the crowd grew frustrated and we faded towards the end. You have no idea how the players really feel and if they really were behind Pardew or not, you can't after only one game.

Saints V Swindon The Verdict

Disagree that it has much to do with Pardew going. It was exactly the same as the Plymouth game. We we're playing reasonably well first half, but struggled to create many clear cut chances. We were already struggling at home, and I'm not sure Pardew would have made that much different last night. Swindon are no mugs and beat us last season twice as well. Lallana is a big loss to be fair as well. On the bright side, Alex OC looked great when he came on, that's the best he's played for us I reckon. Some of the worst refereeing I've ever seen too.

One up front seems the more likely option than dropping one of Hammond or Schneiderlin I reckon. I disagree that we'd be ok with just three strikers though. Lambert up front on his own is fine, but I'm not sure how Barnard or Connolly will cope without someone next to them. Connolly is bound to get injured at some point as well.
