Another late name is hitting the rumour mill with West ham sources claiming that Saints are interested in taking West ham defender Ben Johnson from the Hammers, they are said to be long time admirers.

Whether this one has any legs we will soon find out, however West Ham Zone are one of the claimants that right back Ben Johnson is the subject of a late bid from Southampton.

The 23 year old is into the last year of his contract and is valued around the £10 million mark and the deal has shades of the one that brought Kyle Walker- Peters to St Mary's.

The worry for Saints supporters is that if this deal takes place it may mean a late bid for Walker Peters has come in.

Johnson's career at West Ham has stalled of late and he made only 17 Premier League appearances last season to give him a total of 55 League games for the Hammers.

Both Middlesbrough & Birmingham City are also said to be interested.
