Pablo gone to Al Arabi? 09:30 - Jul 15 with 7563 viewsSimonM

A Qatari journalist has tweeted a photo of Pablo training with Al Arabi and saying he's signed a 3 year deal. Any confirmation of this?
I don't know how to add the photo to this.

The edit did make me chuckle:

"Pablo snuck out the Swansea back door and signed for Al Arabi without telling anyone on the 15/07/2014."

Have to say I'm a bit disappointed with Pablo leaving. It looked like Monk was getting the best out of him when using him in that central role.

I've heard he's going to miss pre season and the first 6 weeks of the season after a bit of sand got lodged in his bum crack and it really itches.

Rumours was a 4 million fee.

Looks like we may get some confirmation later then after seeing that picture.

He did lay waste to Cardiff's defence. Well worth it I'd say.

If we make only a £1.5m transfer loss on him when he's close to 30 and only has one year left on his contract, I'd say we've done pretty well.

Quite. It was never a purchase where we could look at selling at a profit. If we can get £4m or even break even on the transfer front then it would be very good business, particularly as it would likely pay for Montero.

I wish him well and look forward to finding out who this season's whipping boy will be.

Well it earned us 3 points and therefore an extra place in the table. Apparently that was worth £1.2m in prize money.

Plus all the other games in which he played well and helped us get points. But I know we disagree on what he contributed, so maybe best leave it there in the interests of forum peace and brotherly love.

Good thinking, last thing we need is petty squabbles breaking out all over the place like wildfire.

I'm putting early money on Gomis. It now seems to be accepted fact amongst an element of our support that we're spunking unprecedented massive wages on him, so there's a big old target on his back. Probably bigger than Bony's was and we saw the result of that, it took some people well into 2014 before they could admit he was alright actually.

Outside money on Emnes, although he shouldn't play regularly enough to be prime whipping material.

We signed him at 27-he was never going to be an investment. £4m would be decent business if true. His contribution has been worth the £1.5m loss over 2 years.

Rangel is going to be whipping boy I think because "he gets exposed for his lack of pace" or he runs like he's "got something stuck up his arse"
