No one knows our players better, our style and after first playing for the Club over 40 years ago is certainly a Legend. He is the best equipped to get the very best out of this group which he has done over five games including the two in Manchester. Just feel that another experienced first team coach is needed as well.
All of that means that the supporters will get right behind the team and fully. That wasn't happening over the last weeks under Monk.
The appointment of an 'outsider' would not guarantee anything. Our next two games are simply massive in terms of the future.....

It's a shame the ideal candidate wasn't available, but the board have done enough in my eyes to deserve our trust.

It's vitally important that the fans get behind the team now. In the "Great Escape" season everybody was pulling in the same direction, there was no constant sniping and point-scoring, that's what we need to see from our support.
For the people already resigning themselves to relegation, you've got to ask the question "Have you got the stomach for a relegation battle?" - it's not just the new supporters who've never seen us struggle either, some fans who have been following us for decades have started to believe that we have some sort of God-given right to be a Premier League side and are throwing their toys out of the pram.
