Apparently HMRC staffing numbers are at an all time historical low and apparently it's going to get even worse. Utterly bizarre really?

Tax-evasion is meant to be a serious issue (according to HMRC) but people cannot get through and surely many must end up saying... Oh f#ck it why bother paying tax when the people that are meant to deal with it put up communication road-blocks stopping people from paying their taxes in the first place.

To report a change of circumstance to HMRC is a nightmare...often it can only be done over the phone.

It's a complete and utter farce. I have found the DVLA phone system frustrating but apparently HMRC's system goes way beyond that.

Well, the Hypocrite Gordon Brown hived off much off the enquiry system to a firm run by associates of his some years ago at which point the never easy job of getting through to HRMC in order to sort out your tax issues became almost impossible as staff numbers were slashed in he pursuit of greater profits for Gordon's buddies.

And for those who still have the shame of describing themselves as Labour party supporters on here the disgusting hypocrites that call themselves the Labour party sold off every HRMC buiding in the country for £220m to a firm called Mapeley Steps in 2001.

The company based in the tax haven of Bermuda now collect the rent paid to them by the British government on the 600 buildings involved in the sale.

I'm sure that any labour supporters on here must be very proud of the laughable mob they think are suitable for government and who constantly bleat about tax avoidance and yet in the ultimate act of irony have ensured that the lot of us taxpayers pay the rent for the country's tax collecting offices to a company based in a tax haven.

You almost couldn't make it up.

What did Thatcher sell, remind me?
Or what she didn't sell would be quicker. Evil cow.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Holy sh#t I never knew that! It just adds further to an ever increasing/relentless list of utterly despicable and shameful doings by both Tory and Labour governments for many years.

It's borderline criminal. There again it probably is but legislation has probably been passed to let individuals/government(s) and all responsible get away with it.....Truly shocking stuff IMO!

The HMRC is toothless compared to what it once was. You just submit your own figures if you re self employed or running a business and no one ever questions it.

I m sure this, the PAYE and different forms of avoidance schemes cost the country billions a year.
