More incompetence from Westminster.
Government suggest/ initiate review, they then receive proposals from rail industry which they then support, however the public aren’t happy and raise concerns at which point the government change their mind and throw the rail companies to the wolves. I think people have had a guts full and when things go wrong they want to be able to speak to someone. I struggle to see how these changes could have been implemented in the first place.
Any changes like this would require the completion of an Equality Impact Assessment to ensure disabled people were not disadvantaged or discriminated against by the changes. Closing ticket offices down in my opinion would have disadvantaged people and resulted in a breach of the Eqality Act. We’d have seen litigation and probably a huge court case or 2 and then the proposed changes booted out. |  | | |
