Why don’t you give it a rest about Duff and Whitaker and stop pedalling nonsense?
Duff has gone on record as to what happened. Duff hadn’t even taken a single training session when Whitaker made it clear he wanted out and that was that. Whitaker was clearly unhappy about something which had taken place prior to Duff’s arrival!

Fletcher, returned by Levien to DC Utd. Nothing to do with the manager.
Whittaker, was never going to shift Piroe, bad attitude, will make the Swans three million plus this week. Win, win.
Gyorkeres, again was never going to shift Jamal Lowe or Andre Ayew, he was not Cooper’s choice, and there would have been uproar had he done so. | |

The club need to love and respect their number nines. The academy / CoE have not produced one in 20 years apart form Cullen who is played wide.

Al Hamadi Doing well at 19 moved on
Gyokeres On loan for 6 months played one full game - moved on
Whittaker Goals v Man city and a hat tick on a rare full appearance - moved on
Fletcher Duff said he was 'on trial' and "we will make a decision" - moved on
Iwan Morgan Moved on
These players were delivered to Fairwood and you will not find a good word about any of them. Not cared for or loved.
The club does not seem to like centre forwards. None in the academy anywhere near the first team. No rumours of a striker coming in just wingers.
Swansea preferred Lowe and Cullen to Gyorkeres. They still prefer these two (three years later) and they are not great.
Goykeres was at Swansea doing OK for a manger with 6 months left on his deal. He was moved on. He moved to a club with a long term manager Mark Robbins who signed him for 12 months later when Robbins was still manager. Robbins has been there for 6-7 years now and thinks long term. Swansea lose out due to short term thinking. [Post edited 30 Jan 21:02]
