I wouldnβt mind paying taxes so much if we actually saw them go to good use with efficient health services, good road infrastructure, buses etc. But it all seems to go into a massive black hole, nothing gets done or fixed and then local authorities and government in general then complain they have no money and need to tax more.

Ok, so I donβt pay. After several reminders, court action.
Go to court, lose case. Made to pay plus costs so further out of pocket. Also, credit rating affected.
Still refuse to pay, judge will say βyouβve got to pay your taxes, have some time in prison to think about itβ. Further costs added to the already large bill.
Still donβt pay, stay where I am until I do.
Itβs attitudes like yours that are so reductive but itβs not like that is it? It would take mass protest and support to even start to have an impact. Go back to the post I wrote and try and ascertain whether or not Iβd get public opinion on my side. Theyβre very careful to keep the majority on side in cases like this making it impossible for the minority to effectively overturn opinion.
Your argument is easy to say and you do so so pompously but in practice, well you havenβt thought that one out, have you?

I often wonder what the result would be if there was a movement for mass civil disobedience on certain issues. Obviously they canβt gaol everyone and the courts system is already backlogged to high heaven anyway. I do think weβve gone soft though.

There's paying tax (for like you say public services) and then there is being absolutely robbed. These evil sicko's running this world are taling the Michael and laughing in our faces. Unfortunately society has gone soft, men have been demasculated and turned into women and the majority just bend over and take it up the marmite motorway no questions asked.
It's getting to the point though where people are going to have no choice but to wake up to these sadists before they completely demolish this world
