Jonathan Soriano 11:27 - Mar 5 with 3180 viewsjasonbromham

I saw a thread on here a few weeks ago about potential signings for next season, I can't find it anymore though. This would be a good striker for us to try and get. He is banging in the goals atm. He's 28 now but he's valued at about 4-5 Million.

we were rumoured to have him before, this was when he was with Barca B team, he scored 54 goals in 79 games.

hes joined Red Bull Salzburg where he has 61 goals in 60 games.

definatly competition for bony, maybe have 2 up front.

11 in 12 European game says all you need to know though.

He's been banging them in in the Europa Leauge too, as have Salzburg for that matter.

We'd get murdered playing 2 up top

But I do agree that he'd potentially be a good signing

I googled Jonathan Soriano Swansea. I found that we failed to sign him due to his wage demands. At that time we were only new in the premier league and we had to be extra careful with finances plus our board have a wage structure. Be good to have him

I can't imagine Salzburg paying him more than we could.

About time we signed a Glen Murray character. Oh hang on we had one: maybe should have kept Luke Moore as well. Would rather spend money on Caulker when Cardiff go down than Soriano. Aim closer to home for another striker. How much would Murray cost v Soriano? Worth thinking about. Lita, Vasquez, Ngog will be off and Donnelly unsure about him due to Coventry episode. Michu is a good striker so we only need 3 max. Emnes is worth keeping.

Michu is not a striker, but could fill that role if we have injuries.
We need at least one good striker to complete with Bony.
We need a striker more then we do a CB.

not just competition for bony, but a totally different type of striker to make our strike force more diverse. bony cant score much more than 12 yards away, hes good with his head.

when we play teams like palace, first half we have 80odd% possesion and most of that was in the attacking half for a change. but when they park the bus and play 8 in defence, Bony cant get a decent possision, for a good shot.

Soriano seem to me a striker that can score goals from long range and may be make us less predictable.

However i think Monk has made swansea less predictable since laudrup.

So what about the goal Bony scored against Man City from outside the box? Plus with a bit of luck he could have scored a couple more that day (from outside the box) and he often has a pop when he can. Generally prior to ML's exit, we generally used to try and almost walk the ball into the net

'walk the ball in to the net' don't remind me so glad it's all changed. I have never slated bony even when a lot of people did. He is dangerous when he gets the perfect pass. Just saying he is better in those situations than when he has to work on his own.

Does anyone know what his goal was like last night against Belgium

Bony didn't score, Max Gradel got the equaliser

Yeah I was confused, internet showed bony as scorer , the text highlights said his shot was saved, I found video highlights and yeah it was someone else to score.
