Swansea City have taken the unprecedented step of going right into the middle of Cardiff City territory in a bid to unearth the next Aaron Ramsey or Gareth Bale.
WalesOnline has learned the Premier League high-fliers are seeking to capitalise upon their new top-flight status by setting up Swansea development centres right in the middle of Cardiff and the immediate outlying areas.
The move comes as Garry Monk’s club seek to tap into the rich vein of football talent which has been produced in the Cardiff area over the past few years, the capital city becoming a hotbed for some of the finest players in the world game.
Amongst the plethora of stars who have emerged from Cardiff are Ramsey, who played for the Bluebirds as a teenager, plus Bale, Craig Bellamy and Ryan Giggs. For differing reasons, that trio each signed for clubs other than their home-town team.

We have sister clubs in the former Yugoslavia, Belgium and the US. They are not necessarily the best leagues in the World but they are strong. The Premiership is the "Showcase" for Vincent Tan and that certainly is where the money is.
So yes I guess a few players will come from the Valleys however I think VT is actually spreading his net wider. I personally believe CCFC will be the beneficiary of a certain amount of talent from Belgium, the Balkans and to some smaller extent the US. The Belgium tie up really excites me."
