Full backs in this day and age are most successful when they act as second wingers when we have possession, overlapping and offering support to the actual wingers when needed. Due to the way the game has developed in that sense, it is highly likely that his main task when we don't have possession is marking wingers who have incredible speed. So taken both those into consideration then full backs should have a decent bit of pace, which is something Cork does not have. Look at the difference a loss of speed has done to Rangel, and he is a natural right back with bags of experience and nouse in that position, it's a massive part of the job now. Before, you could get away with it and have a Gary Neville type, because every second winger wasn't an olympic sprinter back then. If Cork came up against an experienced Prem modern day winger - he would get absolutely roasted. [Post edited 4 Mar 2017 7:54]
