Jack Cork as RB? 01:56 - Mar 4 with 1330 viewsSwan91

http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/paul-clement-hails-jack-cork-s-maturity-

according to Clement Cork has played in that position before... also interesting to see that Clement has known Cork since he was 10 years old.

Now that we have so many wingers (with 2 looking to break into the first team) would you like to see gylfi back in the middle(with Carroll and Fer) and then possibly see cork become RB instead of naughton(if he is not up to scratch)

would be an interesting way to do it...

Full backs in this day and age are most successful when they act as second wingers when we have possession, overlapping and offering support to the actual wingers when needed. Due to the way the game has developed in that sense, it is highly likely that his main task when we don't have possession is marking wingers who have incredible speed. So taken both those into consideration then full backs should have a decent bit of pace, which is something Cork does not have.

Look at the difference a loss of speed has done to Rangel, and he is a natural right back with bags of experience and nouse in that position, it's a massive part of the job now. Before, you could get away with it and have a Gary Neville type, because every second winger wasn't an olympic sprinter back then. If Cork came up against an experienced Prem modern day winger - he would get absolutely roasted.

For reasons known only to him Garry Monk often deployed him on the right hand side of his midfield diamond and that didn't work out so well.

Cork is in the middle or nowt.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
