IMO no, the standard of refereeing is abysmal and officials are relying too much on VAR to overrule their mistakes. Stand them down for a month and insist they do more training, do it again and they are out. [Post edited 15 Aug 2023 12:30]

It seems to me that VAR, though trying to take the subjectivity out of such a decision get confused on what is a clear and blatant foul

Watching the game on Saturday with predominantly english commentators all admitting that Farrell has form for those sort of "tackles' then to hear the decision today ,it does make you think just what the hell is going on at the top flight of sport . I'm no fan of Wolves or Utd but at the end of the season those 3 points dropped can and often does make a difference | |

This is where I get angry about people who say things like it ruins the game, did the ref not want to ruin the game by sending the manc keeper off?
The rules are the rules and nobody should escape punishment because it changes the game.
I don't know why the ref and VAR let this go but they need re-training because it's horrendous. If Wolves go down a pont short of safety they will all be looking back at this, never mind the other 37 games. | | | |
