No. See the other thread on it - too weak and miles behind Ki/JJS. Work in progress though and good experience for him tonight. A lot didn't come off for him tonight, but he didn't let himself or the team down and he will learn from it hopefully. He's got another notch to step up to imo. Nice technical player though - just the sort we should be looking at.

He looked a little too intimidated tonight at times, but gets me thinking he could just click in to place given a year or so ( loan being the problem ) and become a typical Swansea player.

I thought the appearance of Ki really changed the game. It was only then that I was sure Everton were dead and buried.

Certainly made himself available but was feeding Everton quite a bit.

There were a few occasions in the second half where he'd obviously seen the right pass but couldn't get the execution right. Not good enough to start for now, but I can see him getting some game time later in the season.

Is JJS on four yellows already btw? Hopefully he doesn't pick up another at Sunderland or we'll be down to Ki and Carroll for Newcastle.

He did pretty well, especially considering his age and the opposition.

Games like this will do his confidence world of good.

He's doing far better than ok Tom. His performances are screaming "look at what you let go" to Spurs

I thought he was tidy enough last night - gave the ball away a few times but that's equally true of the likes of Shelvey, Taylor and one or two others.

I'd like to see us try and make his move permanent in January.

So basically a pointless exercise in bringing him here IF we cant sign him on a full time basis, so as harsh as it seems must be filed in the 'Pointless signings' file.

Just checked and Carroll is actually 22, not a wet behind the ears youngster. He is far too lightweight for me and I felt his performance last night was lacking in several areas, although he put a shift in. He is far too lightweight in the tackle, I don't think he won a challenge all night. He tired visibly in the ten minutes prior to being subbed and became a passenger who started giving possession away. I was mighty relieved to see Ki take his place.

Thought he played well but tired and gave away 3 passes on the trot Monk took him off for kids just at the right time. Not sure what Spurs have planned for his future but I wouldn't mind it being at this club.

Absolutely nowhere near a first team start. Ridiculous suggestion.

Left huge gaps in the midfield and is far too weak. People saying he reminds them of Joe Allen - that's not a good thing!

Neat and tidy yes but for some strange reason when he passes the ball he runs behind the opposition player so he can't receive it back!

Very much a work in progress. All the pointers are good but he's not quite ready yet. Certainly one the for the not too distant future.

Poll: Is there any way for Lee Trundle to play in this squad?
