Went to see the film last night, highly recommended if you like brilliantly acted and superbly crafted film drama.
It's the true story of American lawyer James Donovan who defended Russian spy Rudloph Abel at trial in the USA at the height of the Cold War in the 1950's, then negotiated an exchange of Abel for a shot down American spy plane pilot in Berlin in 1962.
The acting by Tom Hanks, Mark Rylance and the supporting cast is of the highest order, the cinematography from Spielberg is stunning and the story gripped me from beginning to end. Two and a half hours just flew by.
You won't like this if you have to have flashbangs on the screen every two seconds, but if you are a fan of serious cinema, go and see it. |  | | |  |
