Not In My Plans!!

and was prepared to sign the contract offered to him at Christmas by Hollins.

However, the contract was withdrawn by Hollins at the eleventh hour who told the 29 year old defender that he was not in his plans for next season.

Immediately clubs like Cheltenham Town, Kidderminster Harriers and Bristol Rovers were alerted and Jones can expect a number of offers closer to his Cotswold's home next week. Jones said,

" I've already been spoken to by the manager about being released, he was angry that the internet sites had got a hold of the news, but I told him that I was unemployed and looking for a job. What does he expect ? I've got a wife and kids, and remained loyal to the club and look whats happened "

Jones will speak exclusively to this site at the end of the season in an interview that will ring very similar tones to the Martin Thomas, Julian Alsop and John Cornforth interviews of late. Steve has asked that all fans of Swansea City should be made aware that he did not want to leave the club, and loved playing for The Swans, there was no other club he wanted to be at.

However, his hand has been forced, and as much as he loved the club he has to secure his future now that he is a free agent and that is what he will do.

Jan Molby is favourite to secure his signature at Aggborough for next season, so Jone's Vetch Field return will no doubt haunt John Hollins when the two sides meet next season. That is of course if the manager is in the plans of the new owners, whoever they may be.

Supporters will lobby the new owners in the summer for the immediate removal of John Hollins, and several other back room staff if the pending sale goes ahead.

Walter to return to Jamaica

Walter Boyd has vowed to return to Jamaica as soon as he can to finalise a deal with a club away from the UK. Boyd who came to Swansea after a panic buy from the board in 1999 has featured very little this season at Swansea. Clearly not in the plans of John Hollis the Jamaican striker will leave as soon as he can book his flight back home.

This leaves Hollins with a clear striker crisis at The Vetch, one which he failed to address last summer when he was forced to play Nick Cusack up front due to a lack of summer signings. This summer is expected to be no different and he will no dubt launch an inexperienced team in to the third division next season if he gets his own way. Swans supporter, Neil Price told Jack Army.net " Hollins only wants people at the club who he can influence, that's why we have lost Martin Thomas, Alsop and Jones, and that's why Corny never signed. I won't be renewing my season ticket, and the fact is no one should until Hollins either leaves or is forced to "

Gio is off too!

Giovanni Savaresse will leave the club at the end of the season. Gio who has scored twelve goals this season will not be playing third division football at Swansea, nor anywhere else. Always a man to play his cards very close to his chest he is unavailable for comment at this time. He features in an exclusive interview with Keith Haynes in Mays edition of Total Football which is out next week.

French boys to go home

Nicholas Fabiano and Mathias Verschave will depart the club at the end of the week back to Paris SG.

Price refuses to sign

Jason Price has been offered a new contract by Swansea City. On the evening of the Wrexham game last Tuesday he refused to sign a contract offered by John Hollins. Price who was 24 on April 12th is now a free agent and able to talk to any club he wishes to. Cardiff City will be interested, they too have a number of players to off load and Swansea City, if capable of making a decision this side of Christmas should be interested very much in the way Cardiff were when they signed a number of ex Swans two season ago.

Monday is D day!

John Hollins has been told to trim the Vetch Field staff now the club are to play third division football next season. Angered that sources at the club are leaking news to fans he had to announce that Steve Jones had been released three days before he wanted to.

The official Swans site was told to relay the release of Jones after this site picked up an exclusive from a member of the Vetch Field staff. A source at the club also tells us that Hollins will circulate a number of players available for transfer on Monday after meeting with them.

The big question on everyone's lips should be the future of Roger Freestone. Freestone who is about to celebrate his testimonial year at Swansea would command a fee big enough to cover wages through the summer.

Roger stated today, " I don't want to leave the club, like Martin O'Neil at Celtic they would have to drag me kicking and screaming from the club " Oxford team news Roger Freestone returns to the side for the insignificant away game at Oxford utd.

Jason Price will play at right back and Lee Jenkins will feature in midfield. More news to follow.
