Irish goalkeeper Brian Murphy was signed by Brian Flynn in 2003; Murphy played 13 games in his first season with the Swans until he was dropped because of numerous errors - mostly due to dropping crosses.
The Irish under 21 International is an excellent shot stopper; he only played two league games last season (away at Boston and away at Mansfield) Murphy did not let his side down when he did feature. Brian was also the hero in the penalty shoot out away at TNS in the FAW Cup semi final.
He probably would have feature in more games for the Swans had Willy Gueret not had an excellent season and the fact that there was no 'playing out the season' matches due to the Swans winning promotion on the last day.
The Irishman is still only young and hopefully he will feature in more games, Murphy is very good backup if needed and would not let the side down after seemingly improving on his positional and general goalkeeping skills.
