After all the talk this week being dominated by the Football League Trophy and the saga of the trains, we need to put it all to one side and concentrate on League 1.
With our massive result against Brentford last Friday and results in week going our way we look to the Priestfield Stadium Gillingham tomorrow for another good result.
With the news than Owen Tudur Jones and Kevin Austin are close to returning our squad has not looked as strong as this for quite a few months. In fact it has been mentioned that OTJ could actually make the bench tomorrow. That only leaves Izzy and Watt out for the season.
Although Gillingham are 19th in the table they had a good result at home in the week when they beat Brentford 3-2 (Thanks for that). The match saw 2 red cards, but Alan Pouton is allowed to play after a League appeal in a team that could include Brent Sancho who nearly joined the Swans on loan this month.
Gillingham have a good home record with 10 wins 4 draws and 5 defeats. It's their away form being the cause of their current relegation worries. In fact the 2-1 win at the Liberty at the end of January being their only League win on their travels this season.
History is slightly on our side with league encounters showing 10 wins for the Swans, 9 draws and 8 wins for the Gills.
It's a hard call but let's hope the lads return from deepest Kent with all 3 points |
