Shaun MacDonald captained the Wales U-21 side as they defeated their Italian counterparts 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium

Joined by MacDonald in the U-21's squad were fellow Swans team-mates David Cornell, Casey Thomas and Ashley Richards.

Brian Flynn's men went ahead through Bristol City defender Christian Ribeiro, who tapped home at the back post after a flick on.

The Italians equalised thanks to Alberto Paloschi, the Palma striker notching just after the half hour mark, before Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey grabbed the winner with a stunning bit of Premier League class.

Ramsey played a few clever tricks on the edge of the box before superbly drilling the ball into the bottom corner to give the Welshman a deserved victory.

The win takes Flynn's men a massive ten points clear of group favourites Italy and to the top of Group 3 in the European U-21's Championship.
