Consistency The Key For Swans
Saturday, 1st Mar 2014 14:07

Wayne Routledge knows that the Swans have it about them to stay in the Premier League especially with two vital home games coming up now in succession.

Crystal Palace visit the Liberty tomorrow afternoon whilst West Brom are the visitors in two weeks time with the Swans knowing that two wins in those games and any fears that may be lingering in terms of relegation will have pretty much disappeared.

The one thing that we have struggled for in the league since we won the Capital One Cup is consistency and a damming statistic tells you that we have not won back to back games in the Premier League since West Brom and Arsenal were despatched at the end of November and early December 2012.

But Garry Monk's team can change that and build on their recent good form since the change of management last month which has seen a huge upturn in the quality of the performances given by the team even though just one of the six games since has seen them pick up a victory.

Winger Routledge is one of those who has also seen an upturn in his own performances in that time as well and it does look from the outside as if the good times are back for the Swans at the moment. Routledge though knows that good performances mean nothing unless the results follow and he uses his interview with tomorrow's match programme to call for consistency from the team in the coming games.

“There’s no getting away from the fact that we’ve got games coming up where we can potentially pick up a lot of points,” he said

“But it is down to ourselves to get the consistency in our performances in order to pick up those points.

“Consistency is going to be key, especially when there are this many games in such a short space of time."

After tomorrow's game the Swans have the two week break until the West Brom fixture.
